1. The race will begin in the Toms River with all boats lining up at a "presumed starting line".  Markers will mark the outer edges of the starting line.

2. Rowers will race east, out of the Toms River, turning northeast in the Barnegat Bay (marked in red).

3. Rowers will then turn (at a marker buoy) and row along the south side of the Mathis Bridge, turning just before the drawbridge (will be marked with a buoy).

4. Rowers will then row under the bridge to the north side of the bridge and proceed west back to the mainland (marked in yellow).

5. At a marker buoy, rowers will turn and row under the bridge again, and row southwest, back along the course in which they came.

6. The finish will be in the lagoon in front of the Toms River Yacht Club.
